Dear Australia To You Team

My name is Richard Spackman and I am originally from England but now live in Sydney. I love Australia, and I really wanted to send something back to my Grandparents in England, who have never visited Australia so they could experience a bit of how wonderful this country is. I purchased the Indulgence Gift Box for them, and within a short time I had a wonderful phone call from Nanny filled with excitement about how much she just loved the Koala Tea and placed it on top first choice of her tea stack, loved the refreshing face mist, marmalade on her toast each morning and the beautiful Cockatoo printed tea towel she has hung on her wall. Happy Australia Day!

Today we acknowledge the First Australians our Indigenous Brothers and Sisters and pay tribute to them as the original custodians of our great nation Australia, this post is being written in Berowra NSW, which in the local dialect means ‘Place of Winds’.

The Traditional nations of the Berowra area were a combination of Kuring-gai and Dharug according to the The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) map of Aboriginal Australia, you can access it here via the ABC website and check your own local area //www.abc.net.au/indigenous/map/ .

Australia has such a rich and diverse Indigenous history, and Australia Day is the perfect day to pause and reflect on this. One of the unique characteristics of Australia, are our unique Aboriginal names, found all over Australia.

One of our local favourites in the Hawkesbury region is our favourite river the Colo River, the word Colo meaning Koala in the traditional local dialect of the Hawkesbury area. The Colo River is a stunning wilderness river that flows through Wollemi National Park. It is a wonderful river for fresh water swimming and there are many wonderful walks there!
